adopt
Our ultimate goal is to find forever homes for each and every one of our animals. By adopting a pet you are not only supplying a loving forever home to a potential SCAR Grad, you are also giving us space to help another animal in need. It’s like saving the life of two animals for the price of one!! Please consider adoption today. From our playful and loveable dogs and cats to our exotic birds and bearded dragons, there are a lot of options. Ready to make a commitment? Check out our section on ADOPTIONS.
Give
We are a no-kill, high volume shelter. We pride ourselves on the reputation that we take on the worst medical cases in the city. The medical costs alone however are overwhelming, our average monthly vet bill is $15,000. We depend solely on private donations and adoption fees. Anything you can give allows us to continue taking on the worst abuse, accident, and generally difficult cases. For information on how to donate please see our section on DONATING
share
Sharing is caring! We rely on our supporters to help spread the word on everything SCAR. How can you help? Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and share our posts. Help us get the word out about the good we are doing at SCAR and our adoption events and fundraisers. And don’t forget to tell everyone about our adorable animals up for adoption!!
Volunteer
Not everyone is capable of a monetary donation. That doesn’t mean you are not valuable to us. You can also help us by donating your time. Volunteering is a huge part of SCAR, it’s become the backbone of our operation. We need volunteers to walk dogs and socialize cats, to lend a hand with our fundraisers and as fosters, we need your help! Excited to start? Check out our section on VOLUNTEERING.
Fundraise
We are always in need of fundraising ideas. Do you have a business and want to sponsor an event or donate an event space? Do you have a great idea and want to organize a fundraiser? From bake sales to sponsored events we need your help and generosity to raise funds! Please email maria.bowen@nyanimalrescue.org with questions or info on fundraising for SCAR.
